The ELECTRIFYING AND energetic SOCA Gold 2010

Deploys On mAY 25 from VP Records

Experience one of the most popular genres of Caribbean music.  Recruiting only the Generals of Soca music, VP Records presents Soca Gold 2010. Considered the Soundtrack of the Caribbean Carnival, this high spirited compilation represents the best Soca tracks on the market.

On May 25th VP Records brings the party to you with Soca Gold 2010. The albums preeminent line up cannot be denied. Leading the regiment is the prince of Soca Chutney Rikki Jai’s popular “Barman” track. Soca has travelled around the world and finds itself in the UK; one listen to the infectious “Party Hard” from Donae’o and you will find yourself bouncing to the rhythm and chanting along with the chorus…Party Hard!! The Queen of Soca, Alison Hinds single “Gimmie De Juk Juk,” exemplifies the feelings and mood of Soca music while demonstrating how it should be done. The Superstar of Soca Machel Montana meets the Superstar of Dancehall Busy Signal on the collaborated track “Wooeeii Gal Wooeeii”. Barbadian artist Edwin Yearwood lends his “Socaton” style to the mix with his track “Carnival On My Mind.” Soca Gold 2010 would not be complete without giving a Soca injection to the most popular track in Reggae music; Gyptian’s single “Hold You.” Soca music has been lifting spirits and providing the backdrop to parties across the Globe. The album also includes Fadda Fox’s “Staggerah,” Peter Ram’s “Tattoo Farm,” Lyrikal’s “All Over De Gyal,” to name a few; in conjunction with this great CD is  a bonus DVD with exclusive footage from Trinidad’s 2010 Carnival, music videos and much more. Soca Gold 2010 keeps the tradition and excitement going with this year’s release.
